Lambeth unveils jobs-by-mobile service

On 1st September 2004 the borough launched a service linking job seekers with potential employers

by mobile phone, the first of its kind in the UK. The service sees Lambeth Council, as the largest single

employer in the area, sending job openings by text message to local people registered with the job
