Ros griffiths of the Employment café is nominated for the Eastern Eye and New Nation Outstanding Contribution to Community Life award at Carlton’s Multicultural Achievement Awards taking place on the 22nd of October 2002 @ Ocean in Hackney.

Carlton’s Multicultural Achievement Awards are about celebrating the inspirational talent from Britain’s ethnic communities - the role models for the next generation aspiring to make their mark in this diverse country.

Nominations were received from the general public across the country by post, telephone and on the Carlton TV website.

Ros Griffiths

Ros Griffiths the founder of the Employment Café is an award winning and dynamic Social Entrepreneur and founder of the Employment café. With 15 years experience as a social entrepreneur with special expertise in urban regeneration and particular focus on socially exclusion, unemployment and young people.


Winner of several high profile awards including the;

  • Best Start-up Business Award from the European of Black Women Business Owners. (2002)
  • Honored with Freedom and Key to the City of Quebec for her outstanding community work. (1989)
  • Nominated by The Metropolitan Police Service for the hero of the community champion award. (2002)
  • Her other achievements have included working at the British Army, where she became the first non-commissioned Black officer to teach at the Physical Army School of Training.
