Who says Brixton is all about guns and drugs?
10 local black kids from disadvantaged backgrounds are on the way to having their skills recognised by Cambridge University.
The students, aged between 9 and 15, who study at Metroshack Computer Learning Centre have completed courses in running your own business, website design and graphic design.
The achievements of these superkids has now attracted interest of government ministers. Tessa Jowel MP (Minister for Culture, Media and Sport) will be presenting these amazing children with their certificates for the website design module at the Metroshack Computer Learning Centre at 4pm on Thursday 26th September 2002.
The programme was sponsored by the Metropolitan Police and borough commander Brian Moore will also be present at the ceremony. The corporate world has also sat up and taken notice of the success of these Brixton kids. Clive Matkin (UK Director of NEC) will also be present at the ceremony.
Brixton kids, from Railton Road to Cambridge University, who knows what the future holds? With hard work and dedication, these young black kids have proved that the sky's the limit.
