The café obviously needs to think about security.

The Coffee Bar for Employment

Visitors are greeted with a smile and the songs of jazz legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. While sipping coffee, clients can surf the web in style. We use the lastest high-speed technology and here you can, check your emails, download high-quality video or use our DTP facilities all in a relaxed jazz-filled environment.

The Employment Café, first opened its doors on 18th June 2001 in Brixton, South London, and was the brainchild of Ros Griffiths, an award-winning social entrepreneur.

Put simply, our aim is to assist those seeking employment and training that is both rewarding and relevant.

The Employment Café Key Objectives:

  • To assist applicants in finding worthwhile employment and training opportunities, particularly those from ethnic minority communities.
  • To promote diversity in the workplace.
  • To act as a central repository of information and services related to employment that can be easily and effectively accessed by our applicants

Our services also include CV writing, Internet access, personal development, career consultancy, office facilities, a minority outreach programme for Job Centre Plus, job brokering with specialist agencies, and of course new web / text-message job matching service.

The Employment Café is staffed with a team of highly motivated professionals who work tirelessly to ensure clients and employers get the best possible service.
